Ziduvudine impurity 8; Used for further modified nucleosides or diagnostic. It is a potent inhibitor of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replication in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) with limited toxicity for human bone marrow cells (BMC). The azido group in the molecule can also be used for click chemistry to cyclized with alkynes.
