Application & Biological Property

It is a novel pyrimidine nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA polymerase, therefore, demonstrates anticancer, antiviral and antiretroviral activity. It has been shown to be active against herpes simplex virus, cytomegalovirus, HIV in vitro. This drug also has antiangiogenic properties due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of vascular endothelial growth factor A. This drug inhibits the production of RNA from DNA and also prevents protein synthesis
