Application & Biological Property |
Naturally-occurring RNA modified nucleoside m1Am found in tRNA for vaccine and cancer research. It is a structural isomer of N6-methyl adenosine (m6A), which is the most abundant internally modified base in messenger RNA (mRNA) and non-coding RNA (ncRNA) in eukaryotic cells. It was also found from different organisms, including yeast, plants, and human cells. Its monophosphate is an antiviral agent. It has been shown to be a potent activator of the tRNA synthetase enzyme and also inhibits viral DNA synthesis. It has been shown to be highly active against viruses such as HIV-1, HIV-2, and HCV. It is also used in the production of modified nucleosides for use in synthetic constructs with therapeutic applications. It has been shown to play a role in regulating gene expression and RNA stability. |
