Application & Biological Property |
This cytidine analogue has the ability to prevent the replication of several viruses, including the Zika virus. It is also naturally produced in mammals through the dehydration of cytidine triphosphate (CTP), which is catalyzed by the enzyme viperin. It is a metabolite of 3’-deoxy-3’,4’-didehydro-CTP. It has a role as an antiviral agent, a human blood serum metabolite, a protein synthesis inhibitor and an RdRp polymerase inhibitor. |
